At the younger ages, the Bats program focuses on teaching the fundamentals as well improving the players' softball IQ. As they get older, the fundamentals are reinforced while more advanced skills are taught. The level of competition will increase at each age group, with 12U and 14U getting the girls ready to play in high school. 16U is highly competitive with many of the girls looking to play in college.
All coaches are carefully chosen based on their track record of being successful in helping develop the skills of the players at different age groups. Any coach with a history of negative feedback from players or parents will not be considered.
In the fall and spring, most practices will be held at Spring Ave Elementary School, located at W 52nd St and Catherine Ave in La Grange. During the winter, indoor training will be at the Lyons Township South Field House.
